The Registrar of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Mr Benjamin Boampong Owusu, has outlined key administrative priorities aimed at strengthening service delivery, staff development, and institutional efficiency within the Registrar’s Offices.
Mr Owusu made the presentation at a meeting with senior members of the Registrar’s Offices, where he underscored the importance of teamwork, collegiality, and professionalism in advancing the University’s administrative mandate.
He identified staff promotions and transfers, customer care, and responsive stakeholder engagement as critical areas requiring sustained attention. According to Mr. Owusu, effective administrative service must be anchored in professionalism and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the University community.
The Registrar further outlined a new administrative direction aligned with the University’s Strategic Plan, PlanK35, highlighting the development and review of key University policies, the introduction of performance management measures, and increased emphasis on staff capacity building through staff attachments and internship programmes.
“Be abreast of existing University policies and actively participate in policy review processes when due,” Mr Owusu advised. “Well-informed staff are better positioned to support institutional growth and ensure institutional compliance.”
Touching on administrative reforms, the Registrar announced plans to prioritise the automation and digitisation of processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timely service delivery.
He also reaffirmed Management’s commitment to strengthening internal communication across the Registrar’s Offices to enhance coordination and effectiveness.
The meeting concluded with an interactive session, during which senior members shared suggestions and perspectives to support the successful implementation of the outlined initiatives.
